Boone Elementary on the North Side held their first JA in a Day program on Friday, February 27th. 22 volunteers filled 16 classrooms, impacting a total of 794 students grades Kindergarten through 8th grade! The volunteers came form University of Chicago and DePaul University’s Fast FWD business club. Assistant Principal Lori Zaimi said, “Thank you so much for coordinating today’s event, the feedback from the teachers and students was very positive! This is honestly the first time that I have worked with JA and every classroom was supported by a volunteer.”
Also, the market research company IRI participated in their first JA in a Day at Hope Institute Learning Academy in the West Loop on Thursday, February 26th. They filled 16 classes, grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. Because of IRI’s generosity, 394 students are now more financially literate!
